Brian Robertson

“No matter what environment you’re in, or what rules of the game are at play, none of that changes the fact that you can be a good sensor for a purpose. How can I be a good sensor, an agent of evolution, on behalf of an organization’s purpose.”

Brian Robertson of Holacracy fame gives the skinny on how to tune into the deeper purpose at the core of your business or organization, and why ‘feeling well-used by reality’ has become a regular measure for him in his work. Listen as Brian does what he does best – inspires us to realize there’s a whole different way of creating organisions!

In this interview we discuss…

  • Why ‘feeling well used by reality’ can be a sign you’re on purpose
  • Why trying to push your purpose into reality can get you into trouble, and how to instead, get out of the way
  • How to deal with unconscious expectations and get to the clarity on the other side
  • Why trying to get consensus and ‘buy-in’ from colleagues is a symptom of lack of clarity in your business purpose.
  • Why getting out of your head and lofty ideals, and instead paying attention to your expectations of others is crucial for collaboration.

About Brian

Brian Robertson is an experienced entrepreneur, CEO, and organizational pioneer. He is most well-known for his work developing Holacracyâ„¢, an organizational operating system that concretely embodies the new capacities called for by many organizational thought-leaders today.

Brian’s passion for software and business began early: he began programming at age six, and launched his first software-related business at age twelve.  His initial work with Holacracy™ took place at Ternary Software, an award-winning fast-growth software company he founded and led for seven years and which was recognized as one of the world’s most “democratic” workplaces.

The system he initially developed there has continued to evolve and spread in the years since under the stewardship of HolacracyOne, an organization Brian co-founded to further develop the method and bring it to the world. He currently works with HolacracyOne to help consultants and change agents bring its evolutionary approach to organizations across the globe.

A deeply felt sense of purpose in life leads to excellence. Human beings want to belong to something of significance and meaning. A successful businessman always does things carefully. Brian is a CEO he knows how he get their no one else knows. To be that successful you need to work alot harder than you can think. Before starting anything always look at his project take full assignment assistance regarding the business. The more knowledge you have the better is you will be successful.

To be a lead successful businessman the first thing you need is confidence and believing in yourself. If you lack these then you can’t be a businessman. Dissertation experts in a workshop I attend were teaching the young grads about how to develop their leadership qualities which can in future help them with doing business.

Well in a business sense yes. Yet, I am discussing assignment writing service business in the full scale sense. Isn't the motivation behind business to give a need to individuals. Isn't business made for the general population and permitted to make a benefit as a motivation.

Working can be stressful, and sometimes you may want to quit and may have this feeling 3 or more times a day. You can even use Internet and follow the link to get your assignments done. But, what you need is looking at things from another angle. It helps. I tested it myself.

Every student read the books but some students not concentrate read the books and unfortunately in exams skip the answer of these question while learn the answer during the preparation.
Last weekend I attended to a Holocracy Workshop in Madrid!! And I would like to share some experiences: The second day, amazingly my and others attitude shifted from a self-centered attitude to a more aligned common purpose. Personally, I felt a relief for not having to be the best, I felt motivated for being able to participate with my highest potential at that moment and I was willing to support others and happy of being supported by others for the purpose of the Organisation.

Apart from that, Two months ago I got my certification as a Integral Coach TM from ICC and now Holocracy has appeared in my track, let's see how both things can work together and I can build my new own business around it. Thank you

Hi Mar. Nice! I've experienced similar things with Holacracy - it somehow creates a collective space that starts to get more an more post-egoic. While at the same time, honouring people's perspectives and uniquness. Ewan
I can totally relate to Brian's comment that I do not want to be in an environment in which I am only partially used. This has been a driving factor for me in my personal Work life and a driving question in all my work with organizations. Basically, what is the ideal environment for people to fully tap all their potential. To me Holacracy creates the structural foundation for it.
Even for a small organization like Waking up the workplace, we benefit from running holacratically.

Too true. Holacracy rocks.
Being well used by reality and aligned with a purpose and potential vs pushing and forcing purpose resonates with me. Being conscious of what I am doing and what is standing in my way of achieving what I know I am meant to do in this moment also does. I am a coach working with individuals and teams trying to make an impact on developing consciousness in the workplace. I am excited at the thought of having an opportunity to learn more on how to introduce and develop this concept through my work. I believe now is the time for this to take center stage in leadership. I look forward to hearing more.
I just love Brian's take on organisational structuring. It actually feels exciting (and how often can you say that about governance and structure!).

Hope you enjoy the talk! And let us know your thoughts too.

What stands out for you? Anything you disagree with?
